The Brooklyn Nets have crashed out of the playoffs after an embarrassing 4-0 thrashing against the Boston Celtics in the first round itself. Both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant got 39 points in two different games but could not have a positive impact on the team. In game 2 and 3 the duo had a combined 36 and 32 points, respectively. In the end, it was a poor game series for the Nets.

Charles Barkley on Inside the NBA went harsh and said brutal things about Kevin Durant after his rather poor display in the game series against the Celtics. After the 3-0, Chuck looked back on KD’s title win with Stephen Curry and the Warriors. Charles questioned KD’s influence on the Warriors team who already had Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

He hinted on the fact that KD has not yet done that when he had to lead the team. Chuck took a shot at him as he said, If you ain’t driving the bus, don’t walk around talkin’ ’bout you a champion!” Chuck said this on Sunday.

After their last loss which made it 4-0 for the Celtics, Chuck asked the tough questions about the Brooklyn Nets. Just hours after their elimination, Charles Barkley said, Who’s going to want to play on that team? — I think the hardest thing for this team going forward is, ‘Where are we going to get players?’ That, to me, is gonna be the most important part going forward.”

Kevin Durant replies back to Charles Barkley

The conversation has gotten intense and downright banter, not the good kind. KD obviously has been offended with whatever and what Charles Barkley said about the Nets and KD’s form in particular. He posted on his Instagram stories and hinted towards the fact that Chuck had never won an NBA championship and “Where would chuck be without the big homies?”

NBA fans OBVIOUSLY went absolute berserk.

Charles does seem to have a point. Outside of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons about whom nobody seems to know what’s going on, the Nets are spread pretty thin. They don’t have much maneuverability in the offseason as well in terms of their cap space. On the other hand, KD defending his legacy and attacking Chuck’s also makes sense. There is not much right or wrong here but only sides of two NBA legends.
