The Miami Heat faced heartbreak after losing a close Game 7 against the Boston Celtics. Missing out on a trip to the finals, Jimmy Butler caught major slack for his final play in Game 7. However, nothing takes away from his iconic playoff run this season. He put Miami on his back and gave it his all to help them. But sometimes, that just isn’t enough. Looking at Butler’s stellar run in the postseason. Kendrick Perkins gave him a huge honor and said he is among the 10 best players in the league.

Jimmy Butler is a different story in the playoffs

In the regular season, Butler is often filling the spaces for the Miami Heat. Whether it is scoring, rebounding, or passing, Butler does whatever the team calls for on the night. However, come playoffs, there is no room for discussion. The one thing that comes with the postseason is a completely different version of Jimmy Butler. And this time around it was no different.

Falling just 4 points short of another NBA finals trip, he concluded his season in style. Drooping a game-high 35 points in an all-or-nothing game, Butler was on point for the most part of the night.

Butler gained numerous fans through his entire playoff journey. And it seems one of them is Kendrick Perkins. The former NBA champion gave ‘Jimmy Buckets’ his fruits and said, “What Jimmy Butler remind us of in this series is that, not to overreact in the regular season. Let’s wait till the postseason because Jimmy Butler is a postseason player, and what he reminded us of is that he is a top 10 player in the NBA and there is no debate about it. I can’t name 10 players that’s better than Jimmy Butler.”

Despite suffering through injuries against the Celtics, Jimmy bounced back and stepped up in the most important games of the series. Scoring at will, the NBA All-Star kept the Heat in the hunt. However, his efforts weren’t enough to carry Miami through as their season came to an early close.

Despite that, this remains his best playoffs as he averaged 27.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 2 steals. While he couldn’t cap off his godly run with a championship, this version of Butler will be remembered for a long time.
