Jimmy Butler’s Latest Heat Teammate Continues to Get Taller and Has No Clue “When It Will Stop”

The NBA draft 2022 is over and there were a lot of interesting players in this year’s draft. Among them is the Serbian Nikola Jovic. He was Miami’s first-round pick and has joined them for a small forward position. He is among the youngest player to be drafted to the NBA being 19 years and 14 days old on the night of the draft. One thing that everyone has noticed about him is his height.

He is a 6 ft 11 inches tall teenager who is sure to strengthen the Heat. Surprisingly, he is still growing and may soon touch the 7 ft mark. While he is still in his teen years, his growth spurts have been surprising.

Tall players do have an advantage in the game of basketball and his increasing height is sure to benefit Miami. He recently revealed that he has no idea when his growth is going to stop.

Jovic scored 18.1 points per game and shot 31.5 percent from beyond the arc for Mega Basket in the Adriatic League last season. However, he made 36.4 percent of his triples during the U19 World Cup. He might be able to take his shooting to the next level. Although he’s not the most athletically explosive player and will need to develop in the post, at the rim, and in his in-between attack, the offensive foundation and potential are there.

As per NBA‘s official site, Heat president Pat Riley said The thing that impressed us the most [about Jovic] was that he’s got great size, great length, great skills, he’s young and he’s going to get better. And how we play — switching all the time, position-less basketball — he has the ability to do those things. So that’s how we see him. How he develops will determine whether or not he evolves into the kind of player that we can keep.

It is the first time Butler will be playing along with a 7ft star during his time at Heat. It would be fun to see how the rookie gels up with the team and if he can actually take them to the finals.
