The ECF Game 5 saw a shocking end, the Boston Celtics blew out the Miami Heat yet again. Despite getting back home, an early advantage for Miami did not do the trick. They crumbled down in the second half with Jimmy Butler having yet another terrible game. However, while the Heat is moving away from the title race, they may have received some great news for the future. Butler’s former teammate and MVP candidate Joel Embiid hinted at a trade to the Heat as he reacted to their embarrassing loss.
Joel Embiid emerged as one of the best players in the league this season. With his refined offense, he dominated the NBA and was second in the controversial MVP race. However, his post-season journey didn’t follow up as the big man had to play through multiple injuries. Likewise, not being in his best shape, Embiid couldn’t take the Sixers past Miami. Butler was at his best putting up 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. However, after the stellar series, the two stars made their desire of playing together really clear.

Now it seems Embiid took it one step further and hinted at his move away from Philly.
Joel Embiid hints at joining forces with Jimmy Butler after Heat’s loss to the Celtics
After going up 2-1 in the ECF, the Miami Heat have come down really hard. Not only have the Celtics stopped Butler from going off, but they have crushed Miami on both ends of the court. Jayson Tatum has led the way for the Celtics to cruise through the last two games of the series. Moreover, Butler has come up short in the last three games as he scored just 13 tonight. With him having no support on the offensive end, Joel Embiid took to Twitter to drop a bombshell.
In what appears as a hint, the Sixers center said: “Miami needs another Star.” With clear proof that these two superstars can play together, this may be a huge indicator of Embiid’s future in the league.

Miami needs another Star
— Joel “Troel” Embiid (@JoelEmbiid) May 26, 2022
The duo played just a single season together in 2019. However, while the time was short, Butler and Embiid formed a close bond akin to brotherhood. Notably, Embiid was even upset after the Sixers traded Butler, saying he was surprised. However, now it seems Embiid is missing his “brother” too much. They went all the way to the Conference finals in that one season only to lose out to Kawhi Leonard’s iconic Game 7 series winner for the Raptors.

Both Butler and Embiid feed off each other and know how to gel together. While Embiid sits in the prime of his career, Philadelphia continues to do him injustice. Hence, if the Heat lands him next season, Butler and Embiid could once again tear up the NBA. Do you think we will ever see this duo play together again? Let us know in the comments below.
