Fans seemed awfully concerned for the young star?s well-being. Where one fan tweeted, ?Just like how it all started with @drose.? Another fan commented, ?He flys around out of control like young Derick Rose.??

Here are some more reactions from NBA Twitter:

While Morant may have shades of a young prime healthy Derrick Rose, his injury may be similar to his as well. Rose was once the face of the league and a very promising superstar for the Chicago Bulls.?

The Derrick Rose story

Rose is a three-time All-Star, a former Rookie of the Year, and an NBA MVP winner as well. But injuries robbed Rose of greatness as he continues to battle ankle and knee injuries to this day. Derrick Rose was a high-flying shifty point guard in his prime.

He was arguably one of the most explosive point guards in the league with a killer crossover. Rose could stop on a dime and just blow by past defenders to finish around the rim, even with seven-footers there to challenge him.

Morant has a game similar to his. He has also won the Rookie of the Year award, the Most Improved Player Award, and was selected in one All-Star game as well along with making the All-Rookie First Team in 2020.?

Ja Morant has been a blessing for the Grizzlies, leading the way as the team?s top scorer,?averaging 28.6 PPG, 6.2 RPG, and 7.1 APG so far this season.

Fans will be hoping that Ja Morant makes a speedy recovery and that this injury does not come back to haunt him anytime soon.?
