The mid-season trade deadline is less than a month away and discussions around the same have consumed the league. These discussions include some off-season trades as well. With this in mind, an NBA executive recently spoke about the possibility of LeBron James teaming up with Stephen Curry in the upcoming season. According to the executive, the Golden State Warriors have a good number of young stars that are eligible for a trade. Moreover, a group of young stars is what the Los Angeles Lakers are reaching for, in order to build a sustainable team for the years to come. However, this would mean bidding farewell to their franchise star LeBron; a scenario that has fans frowning. Amidst these discussions, the latest trade update has given Laker Nation a breath of fresh air.

As per a report on Sports Illustrated, the Lakers and the Detroit Pistons have laid out potential trade cards on the table. These cards suggest that the Lakers acquire Bojan Bogdanovic and Nerlens Noel and surrender their draft picks. Despite the Lakers’ usual reluctance to sacrifice their draft picks, the team might have a change of heart during this discussion. This would also mean that LeBron James wouldn’t be leaving the Lakers. Following the release of this information, Laker Nation couldn’t help be celebrate.

The Lakers fans have been upset with the front office and their previous decisions. However, with this latest update, fans were impressed with Rob Pelinka, the General Manager of the Lakers. They stated that the deal is exactly what the team needed. Fans addressed this update as beautiful and begged for the move to happen. This has been the story of the season for the Lakers. In each game, they have shown glimpses of controlling their winning narrative. However, in the end, they failed to grab the win. With an average of 29 points per game, LeBron has been sublime but he has lacked consistent support from his team. So far, his desire to keep winning has not been supported this season.
