Justin Bieber Set to Give Massive Homage to Late Rap Icon Takeoff at NBA Team’s Stadium

Earlier this month, a piece of breaking news left the world of pop culture in a state of shock. The news was about the sudden demise of rapper and Migos member Takeoff. Reportedly, Takeoff was shot and killed in a bowling alley in Houston, Texas. Information about his memorial service has been released to fans as they continue to reel his loss. Takeoff’s memorial service will be held on November 11th, 2022 in the State Farm Arena, home of the NBA side Atlanta Hawks.

Reports state the memorial service is open to fans on a ticket basis. The memorial service has been titled ‘Celebration of Life‘.  The public has been made aware of only one artist who will perform during the service so far.

Justin Bieber to pay tribute to Takeoff

The memorial service at the Atlanta Hawks home will reportedly include a performance by Justin Bieber.

Justin Bieber has not released a solo collab with Takeoff. However, Bieber and the Migos group have collaborated on songs like ‘What You See’ and ‘Looking For You’.  

Furthermore, the family has asked fans to donate to the Rocket Foundation instead of sending gifts and flowers in honor of Takeoff. The Rocket Foundation is a group that strives towards preventing gun violence. 

NBA world mourns the tragic loss 

Following the unfortunate news, the NBA community paid their respect to Takeoff and his family. 

Atlanta Hawks star Trae Young was in disbelief. He tweeted, No F******g Way.” A few days later, Trae Young spoke to the media and stated that these recent events have been an eye-opener and really put life into perspective.  

Trae Young said, “It’s just so sad and it really opens my eyes and I hope it opens others…just how short this life can be and how you can’t take any moments for granted because you never know when your last one will be.”

The Atlanta Hawks organization also posted a message for Takeoff and his family. Other NBA stars like Jamal Crawford, and Jared Dudley took to Twitter to express their shock and condolences. The four-time NBA champion and Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James also honored Takeoff by wearing a similar outfit to the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

While paying his respects to Takeoff’s family, LeBron James also spoke about how he would listen to Migos when they had just started making music. He claimed that he knew they would eventually make it big in the industry.

There are no reports of members of the Atlanta Hawks and other NBA players attending the service as of now.
