A Russian court recently gave its verdict on the grim situation surrounding WNBA star Brittney Griner. The Phoenix Mercury player was detained earlier this year in Russia after officials found her guilty of possessing illegal substances.

Moreover, a few days ago Griner herself pleaded guilty. The court recently sentenced Griner to prison for 9 years. Needless to say, celebrities around the world gave their opinions regarding her situation.

While some demanded Griner do her time in Russia, some urged the Government to help her out. Interestingly, eminent music star Justin Bieber made a bold proposition for Griner.

According to multiple reports, Brittney Griner has been sentenced to prison for 9 and 1/2 years. This comes after the court found her guilty of drug charges for which she was arrested earlier this year.

Multiple NBA stars have reacted to Griner’s news on social media platforms. Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving wrote on Twitter, “What is truly happening with our Queen? Please give us an Update” while tagging the President of the United States of America.

Talking about Brittney’s long prison sentence, Jaren Jackson Jr wrote, “No way… 9 is crazy makes no sense.” Other NBA stars who reacted to this news include Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo. Bam wrote, “Smh 9 Years…. Free BG.”
