Meanwhile, the hilarious clip dived down into the controversial topic of recent comments made by Kanye West and Kyrie Irving which caused a stir in the mainstream media. Irving was placed with a five-match ban and Kanye lost his shoe deal with Adidas, in the wake of the controversies. Not long ago, West made certain remarks that generated accusations of antisemitism against him.

In the 14-minute clip, Chappelle went on to hilariously taunt Kanye and Irving on their comments. “Before I start tonight i just wanted to read a brief statement that I’ve prepared ‘I denounce Anti-Semitism in all its forms, and I stand with my friends in the Jewish community’ and that Kanye, is how you buy yourself some time.” Chappelle jokingly commented on Kanye’s recent behavior. He also cracked a few jokes on Irving’s situation, introducing humor to the tense turmoil that all parties are facing.

Chappelle also mentioned the importance of mental health, implying how West’s remarks shouldn’t be taken at face value. “Listen, okay, I don’t think Kanye is crazy at all, I think he’s possibly not well,” the legendary comedian said, highlighting the fact that having mental health issues do not make you “crazy.”

Shaq on Irving

O’Neal supported Chappelle in his endeavor, but was not a fan of fellow basketball player Kyrie Irving’s social media posts. The lack of apologetic behavior from the Nets star didn’t sit well with the Basketball legend.
