The former professional basketball player Dennis Rodman, known as “the Worm,” has a long history of experimenting with sneaker collections. In addition to his defensive and rebounding skills, he always had to rely on something that can support his energetic moves.

Having tried many brands during his NBA career, he has covered everything from Reebok to Nike. He still has a craze for buying new sneakers whenever they are released in the market. With Complex, he went sneaker shopping to explore new brands and shared some of his sneakers moments.

From selecting shoes that will improve his game to one of his videos of unboxing YEEZY shoe boxes, the conversation began. Moreover, one cannot forget that it went viral on the internet when Rodman proceeded to tear apart Kanye’s shoebox.

Kanye West gave Rodman Yeezy Boost 700 Wave Runners and the Yeezy QNTM Barium basketball shoes as a gift. The interesting part came when he unboxed the shoes in a video that was quite different from other ways of opening. In the conversation with Complex, Rodman destroys the West, whom Michael Jordan ignored for years and still won’t meet.

Instead of sliding the boxes, the 59-year-old NBA champion ripped the box apart with his hand, tearing out all the cardboard inside. After that video went viral on social media, people retweeted it and posted their reactions. The incident was brought up while he was shopping, as can be seen in the video. Rodman then explained what happened, saying that:

“I think it should be about three or four boxes and the first one I really opened it, then the second one. So I thought I ripped it over and she said do you know what you just did I said no.”

“I thought it was just tennis shoes. She said, no these are Yeezy. Did I say oh you mean Cayenne West? That’s what I call him cayenne.”

Continuing which he mentioned that “I can’t say his damn name right, Cayenne Pepper, whatever his name is.”

In response, Rodman called Kanye, his brother, and thanked him for sending the shoes. As well as his great on-court skills, Rodman is known for his stylish appearance and style statement. We are curious about your reaction to Rodman’s response and Kanye’s ripped-open shoebox.
