Brittney Griner of the WNBA is creating significant headlines around the world. However, it is not because of her basketball activities or abilities. After a recent court hearing, she has been accused of carrying illegal drugs in Russia. This has prompted stars like LeBron James and Joe Rogan to come out in support of her.

Safe to say, LeBron’s comments on Griner have not been taken well by most fans. Not only fans, but eminent personalities from all around the country have also called out the 4 time NBA champion.

Amidst all the hate, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has come to the rescue of LeBron. In his recent article, Kareem discussed various issues surrounding the Griner arrest and also touched upon the hate LeBron receives. Moreover, he bashed anyone questioning LeBron’s love for his country.

Kareem wrote, “James has demonstrated his unwavering commitment to community and country too many times to have it questioned over this. He has done as much, if not more, than most to bring awareness and gather support for Griner, and for that should be praised.“

Amidst all the hate LeBron is receiving for showing support to a fellow athlete, Kareem’s words of support come as a reality check for most fans bashing LeBron unnecessarily.

Brittney Griner has grabbed all of the attention currently. The Phoenix Mercury star was detained in Russia a few months ago for carrying illegal substances in Russia.

The initial hate forced LeBron to make his stance clear. Taking to Twitter, the 4 time NBA champion posted a long message clearing out any type of miscommunication. However, James can’t catch a break because all the hate just keeps coming toward him.
