One of the greatest scorers in the NBA is Kevin Durant. His ball-handling skills, accompanied by his physicality and shooting ability make him a player everyone finds hard to defend against. When the NBA All-Time scoring list is taken into consideration, Kareem Abdul Jabbar is right on top of it.

Many have speculated LeBron James to soon break the record set by great Jabbar. Talking about the same, Kareem mentioned Kevin Durant. According to Kareem, whether or not Durant will break the record set by him depends on a lot of factors that KD does not have control over.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar currently dominates the NBA’s All-Time scoring list. He takes the first position on the list with 38387 points. Although Kevin Durant is far off from the top, his ability is like no other. He is currently the 23rd highest scorer in league history with 24936 points. (Source: NBA.com)

 Kareem Abdul Jabbar commented on Durant. after he clinched his second NBA ring in 2018. According to The Athletic, Kareem said, “It depends on a whole lot of factors that he won’t have any control over. Whether or not he gets hurt, what the offensive scheme is. I was just fortunate on the Milwaukee Bucks and the Lakers, they needed my points the first day I got there, and I lasted so long.”

Kevin Durant averaged 26.4 points, 5.9 assists, and 6.4 rebounds that season.

Although his position in the scoring list may not be that great, many consider Kevin Durant the best scorer ever. Alongside his various accolades, Durant also has 4 shooting awards to his name. 

His shooting stats are even more impressive. Durant has a career average of 27.1 points, 9.3 field goals, and a field goal percentage of .495.

Durant’s other accolades include being an 11 time NBA All-Star along with two NBA championships with the Golden State Warriors. His points average puts him 4th in the list of highest scoring averages above the likes of LeBron James.
