The Los Angeles Lakers just can’t seem to catch a break. After losing Anthony Davis to injury, the Lakers have struggled mightily. The Lakers are 3-12 in the last 15 games, and they have lost 11 games on the road in a row. Russell Westbrook has been abysmal in the last month, and he is shooting less than 9% from the three-point range. The only games the Lakers have won since the all-star break are the two games where LeBron exploded for 50.

And things became worse for the Lakers on Wednesday. They lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves, and they produced another lethargic performance. The Lakers looked out of ideas, out of energy, and the Wolves’ players mocked them. Karl Anthony Towns dominated as he finished with 30 points, despite foul trouble. No Lakers player crossed double digits as they struggled to put points on the board. The Wolves lead from the start, and they built a huge lead in the first quarter itself. They never looked back after that.

The Lakers lose their third straight as the Wolves seal the season series

The Lakers came into this game after being thoroughly outplayed in the last two games. Meanwhile, the Wolves had won 2 in a row, and they had the opportunity to win the season series between the two teams. And they took it from the tip-off itself.

The Wolves looked hungry, and they were playing with a purpose. They built a 14 point lead in the first quarter itself, and they got it up to 25. However, the Lakers fought back, and they got it down to 4 in the fourth quarter. Then, as per usual, Lakers fashion, they let the Wolves go on another run and build back their lead. The Lakers are now 11 games below .500, and they will need to pick up the slack in order to make the play-in tournament.
