The 2022-23 NBA season has been full of ups and downs for star point guard Kyrie Irving. First, it was the amount of scrutiny he was under during his time with the Brooklyn Nets, serving suspension and getting slandered for various off court reasons. Then came the trade to the Dallas Mavericks which seemed to be a new start in Kyrie Irving’s career. So far, that hasn’t worked out too well either. Now that the Mavs make plans for the offseason, a new report which would see Kyrie team up with LeBron James irked a millionaire businessman. However, Irving wasn’t in the mood for messing around.
If there was a teammate that Kyrie Irving had a great relationship on and off the court with, it was none other than The King. No wonder Irving snapped back at the businessman while having the back of his former teammate.

Since his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers, one could argue that Kyrie Irving has seemingly been bouncing from one team to another. His first stint was with the Boston Celtics which eventually turned out to be a disaster. Then came his tenure with the Brooklyn Nets which was full of drama as well. After a few years in Brooklyn, Irving made his way to Texas, joining forces with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.
Unfortunately, the team and moreover the duo was not able to perform well. The Mavericks did not even manage to make it to the playoffs. So, it really did not come off as a surprise when a report by Shams Charania stated that Irving was trying to recruit LeBron James to Dallas.

This report was retweeted by Dave Portnoy, the $100 million worth owner of Barstool Sports and a blogger. Portnoy wrote, “ It’s amazing how many seemingly intelligent people fall for the Kyrie scam.”
Make sure you’re taking care of yourself David. You can only run your mouth for so long before Karma catches up. Be well.

These words did not sit well with Irving as he replied to his tweet within a few hours. Irving commented, “Make sure you’re taking care of yourself David. You can only run your mouth for so long before Karma catches up. Be well. Hélà.”
Portnoy’s tweet indicated that LeBron James might become one of the people to fall prey to Irving’s shenanigans. Irving was being courted to join the Lakers before the trade deadline. But ultimately, he went to Dallas instead, leaving James in a state of shock. While a potential reunion of the famed duo will excite fans, it seems unlikely that the 4x NBA champion leaves LA at this point of time.

Considering James and the Lakers found something valuable as the season progressed, it seems unlikely that The King will leave a promising roster right now. Moreover, he has always stated how he loves LA and his business ventures surely get a boost from him staying in the city of Angels.
