The Brooklyn Nets have had an uncertain start to the season. But of late, things have started to come into place and it seems like all is right with the Nets. It all seemed to have started with Ben Simmons, who is having a good stretch of games. However, his recent advice to Kevin Durant has left NBA fans in disbelief.

Ben Simmons has had a tough start to the season. He has not played in over a year and he looked completely out of sorts. He seemed to lack confidence in himself and passed up on several scoring opportunities. His teammates looked frustrated with him, but they still believed that he could turn it around.

And he did, as Ben Simmons has been playing great over the last few games. He has consistently scored in double digits and is shooting a very high percentage. The latest example of his improved confidence is when he gave Kevin Durant some advice.

Durant was talking recently about how Simmons asked him to shoot. He said, ” He threw the backdoor, I see somebody shifting over… and I kicked it to Joe in the corner, he missed the shot. I look up and he [Simmons] was like, ‘Dunk the f*****g ball’, I was like, ‘All right, my bad I was open.'”

Next time out, Durant dunked the ball, and Simmons was hyped. Durant said he liked that kind of character as it showed that he was impressed with the game.

NBA world reacts to Simmons advising Kevin Durant to shoot

The NBA world was in shock as Simmons had asked Durant to shoot. At the start of the season, it was the other way around. Furthermore, Simmons is also well-known among NBA fans for his incident of choosing to pass instead of dunk during his Philadelphia 76ers days, a costly mistake in which the Atlanta Hawks subsequently beat the 76ers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals in 2021.

The Nets seem to have all the tools to be a contender

At the start of the season, Simmons had a tough time getting it going. So Kyrie Irving and KD had to do the majority of the scoring. Then when Simmons started coming to form, Irving missed time due to his suspension.
