The Lakers made quite some trades in 2021. One of them acquired former MVP, Russell Westbrook. The team added the veteran to add up a scorer on the team, in hopes of contending for a title after being beaten by the Suns in the 2021 playoffs. Though the team didn’t even manage to qualify for the Play-In tournament. There were a lot of factors to this disappointment. Injuries, players’ performance, and consistency of the roster had messed up the process.

Now that the season is over for the Lakers, there are quite a few teams that are interested in a Westbrook trade.

Knicks, Rockets, and the Hornets look to trade for Russell Westbrook

Recent reports from Lakers insider, Jovan Buhahad mentioned the Knicks, the Hornets, and the Rockets as the three possible destinations for Westbrook. As per the report, the Hornets are very likely to trade for Westbrook. This news had fans on Twitter go crazy.

As for the Knicks, the addition of Westbrook wouldn’t really make much of a difference. Knicks already have guards like RJ Barrett and Kemba Walker. For now, the Knicks have been eliminated from any playoff contention.

Westbrook played for the Rockets in the 2019-20 season. Going back to Houston now wouldn’t be exactly good for Russ. The team has a young roster and is in the process of rebuilding. Though Hornets might be a great destination for Westbrook. For a team that’s young like the Hornets, they’ve been doing pretty well in the East. Westbrook’s presence in Charlotte might help the young guys learn from the veteran.

Not only would it be a good addition, but also Michael Jordan will have his favorite player on his team. Russell has been inconsistent with his game, though he can look to improve for the next season.
