“Keep Your Business Behind Closed Doors”: Coach Kim Mulkey, Who Recently Remained Silent, “Chastised” Brittney Griner After Valentine’s Day Date

Controversial WNBA star Brittney Griner has been the center of attraction for quite some time now. Russian officials arrested her earlier this year, which has triggered opinions across the world.
Recently, Griner’s former college team coach Kim Mulkey was asked to comment on the whole situation. The journalist asking the question added that he didn’t think he had seen anything from Mulkey on the Griner situation. Mulkey replied, “And you won’t.”

Mulkey has always had a hostile relationship with Griner. The basketball star had come out to Coach Mulkey in her first year of college. However, the coach wasn’t very supportive. She had asserted that she doesn’t care as long as Brittney Griner does her role on the basketball court.
After the coach found out about Griner’s Valentine’s day date, she resorted to rebuking the young basketball star. According to a report, “After Griner went out with her girlfriend on Valentine’s Day, Mulkey chastised her for failing to ‘keep your business behind closed doors.’”
Brittney Griner played for the Baylor Bears, representing Baylor University. The University is the world’s largest baptist university, and they had certain rules which were not favorable for Griner.
For instance, they did not allow groups that promoted “understandings of sexuality that are contrary to biblical teaching.” However, such hurdles did not stop Griner from performing on the court.
Brittney Griner was already a star in college
The Phoenix Mercury drafted Brittney Griner as the #1 overall pick during the 2013 NBA draft. She entered the draft as one of the top prospects in the country having played for the Baylor Bears.

During the 2012-13 season, which happened to be her senior year, Griner swept all major awards for a second consecutive year. Some of her accolades include the AP Player of the Year, Wade Trophy, Naismith Trophy, USBWA Player of the Year, and Wooden Award.

Thanks to such phenomenal performances, she was already destined to make it big in the WNBA. Needless to say, she lived up to the hype, as Griner was one of the best players in the league.
