LeBron James had a great night at the all-star game. He was back in his hometown of Cleveland, where he got a rousing reception. His team won their fifth straight game to remain undefeated, and he hit the game-winning shot. LeBron was also honored for being named to the NBA 75 team.

Notably, LeBron was seen smiling during the weekend and that is something that was missing over the last few months, according to Kendrick Perkins. ‘The King’ may be having an MVP-type season, but his team, the Los Angeles Lakers, have been struggling. They have been hit by injuries all throughout the season. The Lakers were one of the favorites at the start of the year but now are struggling to remain in the playoff spots.

And with LeBron saying that he doesn’t know what the future holds for him, there are a lot of rumors that he will leave the Lakers after the end of his contract.

LeBron has also said that he wants to play with his son, Bronny James and that he will force his way anyhow to play with him. So any team that drafts Bronny will more or less likely to get LeBron James as well. And with LeBron showing no signs of slowing down, that could be a boon for any NBA team.

Perkins says LeBron James hasn’t smiled this much since Space Jam

Kendrick Perkins was asked about LeBron James’ comments about OKC GM Sam Presti. Bron had called him as the MVP of the thunder and praised him for drafting Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka, Kevin Durant, and others. Perk says “Here’s one thing when I look at… The first thing is that we haven’t seen LeBron James smile that much since SPACE JAM, right?. He was having a great time in the moment. Now it’s back to reality, back to the Lakers, back to them struggling, back to them not winning games.”

He adds “Sam Presti definitely have eye for the game but at the same time, Troy Weaver was that guy sitting right next to Sam Presti. When he named all those guys that were drafted by the Oklahoma City Thunder.”

“Troy Weaver is in a front-office job but it’s great to acknowledge him to let the world know... I thought Bron missed a golden opportunity right there to acknowledge that person in that situation.” Perkins said.

OKC has a ton of draft picks in the next few years and with Bronny expected to take the leap to the NBA in a few years, they are one of the favorites to land LeBron. This statement might also be a shot at Rob Pelinka for building the Lakers’ roster. But it could also indicate that LeBron may be closer to leaving that thought. But no matter what, as Perk said, LeBron hadn’t smiled this much, and it was a great sight to see him having a good time.
