Akin to the Los Angeles Lakers fans’ dreams, the side has grabbed the favorites tag again. Following a sad 2021 season, the yellow army has landed a tremendous deal. This comes in the form of experienced campaigner Russell Westbrook. The 32-year-old has not been in the best of touch off late; yet the signs are bright. As per a recent report, LeBron and his aids met at his house to discuss playing together, before Westbrook eventually made the switch. They analyzed what it will take to win. One thing is for sure; all three men want nothing but to win. They reportedly accepted a switch in formation and will do whatever it takes to help LA lift the crown. And former player Kenny Smith believes that the players’ individual capabilities will help Lakers in the long run.

“The one thing I would probably say is the Lakers would probably naturally play better easily,” quoted Smith. “Because Anthony Davis doesn’t need to handle the basketball to be productive. Russell Westbrook can pass and assist and rebound to be productive. LeBron James doesn’t need the basketball to be productive.”

Despite all the talks surrounding the mismanagement, the Lakers stars are confident in their abilities. The only concern is that their current squad is on the older side, and will occupy a lot of floor space. In order to improve the balance, Frank Vogel and co. will have to bring in youngsters, as well as long range shooters.

Analyzing the plus points of the Lakers attack, Kenny Smith compared the side to the Brooklyn Nets. The NBA commentator mentioned it will not take much time for excellent communicators like the Lakers trio to adapt. “I think that when the Nets are at their best, their best players score. So with one basketball, I would say it’s easier for the Lakers to adjust to play better together.”
