Kevin Durant has been one of the best NBA players in the past decade. The then-Seattle Supersonics drafted Durant in 2007. The Supersonics were transformed into the Oklahoma City Thunder. KD played for the Thunder for over a decade. But during those years in Oklahoma, he neither found a championship nor a romantic partner. In a Cosmopolitan sit-down in 2013, Durant mentioned his dating drought at the time and boiled it down to a single reason.

Kevin Durant opened up about his dating struggles

In the interview, Kevin Durant was asked numerous questions about his dating life, approach toward women, preferences, and more. When asked about whether he had been dating anyone lately, Durant said, “My dating scene is really slow at the moment since I’ve been focusing on basketball so much.”?

KD confessed to being single and admitted to his dating struggles with some hard-hitting truths. He boiled down his dating drought to a single reason; his dedication to basketball. Durant’s love for basketball is well-known in the NBA community; the guy was born to hoop. Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t seem out of place for a 24-year-old rising star to focus all his time and effort on the court. He was, at the time, one of the best young players in the league.?

The young and rising Thunder were matched against the behemoth from the east, the Miami Heat. The Thunder lost to the LeBron James-led Heat in a disappointing five-game series. The King won his first ring, and the Thunder were in shambles following the humiliating loss.

The Slim Reaper shocked the NBA world in 2016 when he announced that he was leaving the Thunder and signing with the Golden State Warriors to play alongside Stephen Curry. Durant then left the Warriors and signed with the Brooklyn Nets in 2021.
