Over the years, the debate between LeBron James and Michael Jordan has ruled the NBA. However, it is even tougher to have a list comprising the ten best players to play the game. When it comes to scoring, there is no doubt Kevin Durant belongs in the conversation. In his recent interview with the Ringer, KD had a unique take on his case to be one of the ten best players in NBA history.

Durant is one of the most unique and efficient scorers to step on the hardwood. Despite his lean and tall physique, the Slim Reaper can perform moves similar to guards. In addition, his size allows him to easily get the space he needs to get to his spot.

He is proving every bit of his scoring superiority this season as one of the leading scorers in the league.

But when it comes to a game between the best of the best, KD thinks he will be a pick.

Kevin Durant a top 10 player?

During his recent interview, Durant spoke about the honor he felt to be on the NBA 75 list. He said being on that list hit him differently and he looked back on his journey as a poor kid in Maryland. Recognition holds a special place for KD, but the Slim Reaper narrowed down the list even further. While speaking about a five-on-five between LeBron James and Michael Jordan, KD believes he would be a pick.

He said: “I put it like this. If let’s say Michael Jordan and LeBron James had to pick and we were playing a five-on-five game, they’re picking me. I’m going to be a part of that 10 that’s playing in that game. That’s how I feel.”

While there is no proof of Durant keeping up with Jordan, he and LeBron have competed for years. The King and KD have faced each other numerous times throughout their career and are always competing for the title of the best. They have met each other three times in the NBA finals. While James got the first win, Durant took back-to-back Finals MVPs over James in the latest two matchups.

It wasn’t surprising to have the Slim Reaper on the NBA 75 list. Currently putting up nearly 30 points per game, even after an ACL injury hasn’t changed him. He is one of the purest scorers the game has come across. As a 7 footer, Durant can score in all ways and gets the better of his defender for the most part.

He is still not done as he recently passed Jerry West to become the 22nd all-time scorer in NBA history. With some peaks years left in his career, do you think KD will be a top 10 all-time scorer? Let us know in the comments below.
