Charles Barkley has never hesitated to take shots at some of the biggest names in the league. However, his candid approach has often gotten him in the bad books of many stars. One of his most storied beef is with 2x Kevin Durant. Over the years, the two have gone against each other on multiple occasions. Amid Durant’s blockbuster trade to Barkley’s former team, the Phoenix Suns, the long-standing beef between the two took another ugly turn recently. Interestingly, Barkley, who has continued to issue stern warnings for the NBPA leading up to the Collective Bargaining Agreement(CBA), was reportedly not the model NBA player himself in his days.
After making much noise with his polarizing opinions directed at the players, the Hall of Famer recently got exposed for supposed ‘hypocrisy’ on social media. Moreover, Kevin Durant added more fuel to the fire by approving the exposé with his bold reaction.

Over the past few months, Charles Barkley has constantly issued bold statements regarding the upcoming CBA. Likewise, the Phoenix Suns legend had a similarly aggressive stance after the tumultuous NBA trade deadline. As per Ben Golliver, Barkley said, “You can’t take my money and say you want to divorce me in 6 months to a year… There’s no doubt in my mind these guys are going to get locked out… You can’t treat these owners and fans like crap.”

Consequently, the NBA world slipped into hysteria following Barkley’s remarks. However, to un-sensationalize Barkley’s warnings and aid his friend, Eddie Gonzalez, co-host of the etcs with KD podcast, presented a stunning exposé of Sir Charles. He shared a bunch of screenshots from different sources and pieced together a revealing thread of Barkley’s supposedly hypocritical actions. Interestingly, like most superstars he criticized over the years, Barkley was also not the most loyal player in his career. As Gonzalez revealed in his post, Chuck often used extreme measures to get traded. Needless to say, Barkley got exposed big time for not walking the talk this time around.

Charles Barkley’s trade secrets
Much like modern day-NBA players he often criticizes, Barkley was also very active in his off-the-court affairs. The Philadelphia 76ers drafted Barkley in the 1984 NBA draft. However, he would not even complete a decade with them as he successfully formulated to get out of there in 1992. However, he did not dictate his trade to the Phoenix Suns.
Consequently, after an unhappy stint with the Suns, Sir Charles again demanded a trade in 1996. But this time around, Barkley used extreme measures to get traded to a contender and dictate his terms. He threatened the Suns’ management that he would retire if his demands were not met. Subsequently, he was traded to the Houston Rockets on his own terms in 1997. Needless to say, Barkley’s questionable methods of moving around teams certainly come off as hypocritical in light of his recent comments.
