“Kevin Durant, Kiss His A**”: Dennis Rodman Once Heaped Massive Praise on Former Bulls Teammate While Shading the Nets Star

Former Chicago Bulls teammates Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen were featured in an interview on ESPN’s ‘The Jump’ with Rachel Nicoles. The duo talked about their time in Chicago, Michael Jordan, the ‘Bad Boys’ Detroit Pistons, Rodman’s documentary, and more. In one particular segment, Rodman sang high praise of his teammate with whom he won three championships. Moreover, Rodman claimed that Scottie Pippen was the pioneer of the small forward position and credited him with revolutionizing the position.

Dennis Rodman, the former Defensive Player of the Year and Hall of Famer, joined the Chicago Bulls in 1995. He was a fierce rebounder and a lockdown defender. His toughness on the court helped the Bulls achieve the three-peat for the second time. Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman would go on to create history in 1996 when they broke the regular season win-loss record. The Bulls finished the season with a 72-10 record; they cruised through the East in the playoffs and won the NBA championship after defeating the Seattle Supersonics in a six-game series.

The Bulls drafted Scottie Pippen in 1987. He was a 6’10” forward with length and size. By 1990 he was voted to his first All-Star appearance. Pippen would play alongside Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan. The two would win their first championship in 1991 after overcoming their archrivals, the Detroit Pistons. The duo won six titles together. Michael Jordan best summed up their relationship in Chicago in his documentary, ‘The Last Dance’, saying: “There would be no Michael Jordan without Scottie Pippen”.

Dennis Rodman’s comments on Pippen and the shade thrown at Kevin Durant ignited controversy and heated debates among NBA fans in the community. The old timers and the current generation fans were pitted against each other when the two Hall of Fame guards were compared.
