Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns has been performing excellently lately, especially in terms of his shooting ability, as many people regard him as the greatest big man shooter in the NBA’s history, but that isn’t acceptable to everyone. The Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant doesn’t consider Karl to be the best in this regard.
He did win the NBA three-point contest before this, but that doesn’t mean he can call himself the best big man shooter of all time. Durant, in particular, disagrees with that assessment. Karl has been playing great this season because he has the ability to fire shots from all over the hardwood and that’s what makes him special.

Yet earning that title, especially if we look through the NBA history, does not seem to fit, according to Durant. He spoke about this; he remarked that he believes the title belongs to the great Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks. The statement Durant made stated that he respected Karl, but he disagreed with what he said or the argument he raised.
Kevin Durant says he does not agree with Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony’s statement
Karl said the following back in 2021: “Honestly man, I ain’t gotta play like nobody. I’m me,” Towns told The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski. “I’m the greatest big man shooter of all time. That’s a fact. You can see the stats. I ain’t got to play like no one else.”

In addition, he also mentioned, “Everyone trying to find themselves to be the second version of me when I’m the first version. I’m already an original.”

When Durant was asked about this, he mentioned how he respected his ability to score and his way of shooting. He is, without a doubt, one of the best, but he shouldn’t mention himself as the best of all. His statement was as follows:
“[Dirk’s the] greatest big man shooter of all time. Although I respect KAT… but for KAT to say that, come on,” During his appearance on “The ETCs with KD” on the Boardroom, KD said the following.

Karl possesses the power and the ability to shoot from all over the court. He is shooting at 40.7 percent from beyond the arc. The big man has proven to be a deadly shooter over the years, but is he the greatest? Let us know what you think of Karl’s statement and Durant’s response.
