2014 seems like a long time back as we’re now into a whole new era. The game has evolved, and Durant himself has switched between different teams in a span of seven years. However, he was the same elite scorer back then as well.

Kevin Durant won his first league MVP title while playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder. The unguardable forward averaged 32.0 points per game during the regular season, while no other player even managed to average in the 30s.

Durant carried OKC all the way to the Conference Finals in the 2014 Playoffs but fell short against the San Antonio Spurs. Nonetheless, this was one of the greatest individual seasons in NBA history.

What are the odds of the Brooklyn Nets forward winning it in 2021?

One just can’t take Kevin Durant out of the MVP equation. Durant’s enjoying one of the best scoring forms of his career, and he will only get better as the season progresses. Due to his sensational displays, the 32-year-old has leapfrogged many in the MVP odds for this season.

Kevin Durant is averaging a massive 30.7 points per game in 54.8% field goal shooting through 10 games in 2020/21 regular-season.

He only trails Bradley Beal in terms of points scored per game, and his 68.4 true shooting percentage is the highest any forward or a guard has achieved so far in the season.

KD is one of the top contenders to win the league MVP award this season, and there’s no denying that statement. Moreover, his chances of winning also lean toward how the Brooklyn Nets perform this season.

If Kevin Durant takes the Nets to the top of the Eastern Conference, it is an added aspect to stake his claim. Fans will be looking to focus on KD more meticulously since he’s putting up incredible numbers right after recovering from a nasty injury.

It simply means that Kevin Durant is truly a generational talent and one of the best to ever grace the NBA. His effortless displays of dominance have already stirred up talks that he is the deserving MVP, but we still have a long way to go in the season.
