LeBron James has received heavy criticism for being involved with the decision-making of the Los Angeles Lakers. Fans have bombarded the King for acting out of his own will. However, the situation is no different with Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets. The Slim Reaper constructed almost the entire roster. And now, Emmanuel Acho believes the pressure is on him.

Durant and Kyrie Irving broke the NBA world when they signed with the Nets. After they made the decision together, they were not done making moves. The duo further selected their current coach, Steve Nash and also brought in former MVP, James Harden. While Brooklyn did lose out on Harden, they got an All-Star caliber player in return.

Hence, Acho believes Durant has made more moves than LeBron has with the Lakers. That’s the reason he claims all the pressure is riding on KD.

Kevin Durant needs to deliver like LeBron James?
During a segment of ‘Speak For Yourself’, Acho spoke about how it is time for Durant to deliver with the Nets. He set out the example of LeBron James, who requested for Anthony Davis and delivered with a championship. Moreover, Acho also feels Durant orchestrated the Nets roster more than James and the Lakers.

He said: “All of the pressure is on Kevin Durant. Remember, Kevin Durant legitimately orchestrated this roster, some could argue more than more than LeBron James with the Lakers.” He continued saying, “Kevin Durant first and foremost, helped hand select the head coach. Second thing, Kevin Durant partners with Kyrie Irving. Third thing, Kevin Durant encourages James Harden to leave H-Town to go to Brooklyn. So, you hand-selected your squad, you hand selected you coach and you have to do what you decided years ago you was trying to do. All the pressure is on KD.”

While LeBron James has made some big moves through his tenure with the Lakers, he delivered instantly. After a controversial move to trade the young Lakers’ core, James got his partner, Anthony Davis. With all the pressure mounting on them, they dominated together and won the championship in the season.
However, the same can’t be said for Durant, who is in his third year with the Nets. But why is there so much pressure on him?

All pressure rides on the Slim Reaper
After the ‘Big 3’ fell in the playoffs due to recurring injuries to both Kyrie and Harden, this season is different. Despite losing Harden, they have many capable players around their roster. Moreover, Durant is one of the leading scorers in the league with 29.3 points per game. However, his one disadvantage remains the absence of Irving despite New York City planning to lift the mandate.

With Simmons set to return close to the playoffs, Durant still has enough help. Everything is set up well for the Nets. While the Slim Reaper was out with injury, he is now back with the Nets. With the last push in the regular season remaining, Brooklyn will try to push for an upper seed. However, now into his third year with the Nets, a championship is the only way to back up his involvement with the organization.
