LeBron James has been a perennial All-Star for almost his entire career. James first became an All-Star in his sophomore season in 2004-05. Since then, he has been an All-Star every season, racking up 17 All-Star nominations in his career. However, being the hyper-driven athlete he is, he still wanted one elusive All-Star nomination.

LeBron James still upset about rookie year All-Star snub

LeBron James spoke to the press recently, where he revealed his experience attending his first-ever All-Star game in Los Angeles, where he now plays with the Lakers. It was a great experience for him and his entire family. However, James wanted to receive an All-Star nomination in his rookie season, and play in the All-Star Game, and that still bothers him to this day. He said:

“I was in Los Angeles for my first All-Star game. And that was an incredible moment for myself and my family to be here. Obviously, I wanted to be in the All-Star game. Still kind of irks me a little bit, but I got over it.”

While James was upset about not making the All-Star game in his first year, he didn’t have to wait long for a nomination. James became an All-Star in his second season, becoming one of the youngest players in NBA history to achieve an All-Star nomination. Since getting his first nomination, James has gone on to be an All-Star 17 times in his illustrious career.
