NBA superstar LeBron James once made the same mistake as former first lady of the country, Michelle Obama, when meeting royalty. There are protocols to be followed when one is around a royal. One of the many rules is not to touch the royals. It looks like the 4-time NBA champion and the former first lady did not get the memo. In 2009, former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama met Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. And the former first lady put her arm around the queen.

However, the queen did not seem to mind and put her arms around Mrs. Obama. In 2014, Prince William, Duke of Cornwall, and Cambridge visited the U.S. with his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge. However, both Prince William and his wife are more relaxed when it comes to these protocols. The palace officials did not raise a concern about it. Also, on the sidelines, the royals sat near NBA legend Dikembe Mutombo and William was seen grabbing his hand during a conversation. The former MVP took to Instagram to show his excitement. He wrote, “This very moment will be forever remembered and put up in my house. It’s all good and all smiles on this side.”

He hit the ground running and dominated the league soon and lead them to the finals. However, he could not win the title.
