Some key components of the 2022 championship run have already left the Golden State Warriors. While the core remains intact, role players and coaches have switched teams to pursue better opportunities. Fresh off a Finals MVP, Stephen Curry will be wondering if these changes will have a major impact on the team next season.

Gary Payton II, Juan Toscano-Anderson, Damion Lee, Otto Porter Jr., and Nemanja Bjelica have already left the champions for pastures new. The Sacramento Kings took away their assistant coach, Mike Brown. More recently, player mentor coach Leandro Barbosa also left to join coach Brown’s coaching staff in Sacramento.

While all of them played their part in the championship run, Barbosa will probably be the one who Curry will miss the most. Their camaraderie was well known around the league. Curry’s pregame soccer routine with Barbosa was a fan favorite. Barbosa, a former player with the Golden State Warriors, played a big part in establishing the Warriors dynasty.

Fans have understandably been left dismayed by the Warriors’ offseason moves thus far. They let their feelings known on an Instagram post that reported Barbosa’s imminent departure.

Stephen Curry will certainly miss the departing pieces
Stephen Curry is arguably one of the best superstar teammates of all time. He makes everyone feel comfortable around him and makes sure they don’t feel left out. While Lee is Curry’s brother-in-law, he had a great relationship with Toscano-Anderson as well. However, his oldest connection among the departing names is with Barbosa.
