The Golden State Warriors are struggling to cope without Klay Thompson on the team. They have had a bumpy road this season and Klay’s absence is very evident no matter how brilliant they try to make their roster. And today, on his 31st birthday, the Warriors opened up about the importance of having a player like Klay on the team.
Klay Thompson is working to get back
Klay Thompson turned 31 on Monday, and even though he hasn’t played with the Golden State Warriors since the 2019 NBA Finals, the Warriors can’t help but miss the biggest pillar of the team. So, Golden State posted a beautiful tribute for the shooting guard on his special day. The video started with a quote from Klay himself.

“Obviously, I wish I could be out there. It’s been a long process. I haven’t stopped working since Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals. You might not see me a lot, but, I’m working.”
With clips of Klay’s incredible highlight reel playing, Steve Kerr’s voice-over says: “Klay defines who we are. There aren’t that many people out there who have his size, strength and defensive versatility, and then incredible scoring ability.”

The Warriors’ tribute to their teammate
The video would have been incomplete without Stephen Curry and Draymond Green talking about Klay. The ‘Splash Brothers’ are one of the most entertaining duos in the NBA.
Along with Draymond, the trio led a franchise that hadn’t seen any playoff success in many years, to become the most dominant and feared teams in the NBA. L
“Klay is my dog, I look at my career and it’s kinda hard to separate the things that have happened on the court and not put Klay in there. Our chemistry has taken us to all kinds of crazy heights that I don’t know if we ever expected,” expressed Steph.

Green also added, “I don’t think there’s a way you can mention my name and not mention him. He embodies what it means to be a Warrior.”
Many other teammates of his talked about Klay in the video, but the video concluded perfectly with Curry, who said, “Can’t wait for him to get back.” In fact, Curry is probably the first person who is desperately waiting for Thompson to return to action!
"Klay is someone on the team you can't replace."
