Like every other team this offseason, the Golden State Warriors are also preparing to get back into contention next season. While there are a lot of factors on which their title hopes depend, their best bet is Klay Thompson returning to the court. Even though he isn’t expected to be back until December, his presence anytime during the season will play a huge role in how far the Warriors will get. And when videos of him getting some practice done take the internet by storm, Dubs fans are happier than ever.

Klay Thompson making buckets from the arc

After seeing the Golden State Warriors assert their dominance in the league for a couple of years, it was tough to see their downfall. It started with Kevin Durant taking his talents elsewhere. But their biggest loss was Klay Thompson. He was an unfortunate victim to the ACL injury during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals.

With Klay out of the game for 2 years now, Stephen Curry has been carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. But when news of Klay’s progress in his recovery makes headlines, the chances of a better comeback for the Warriors look brighter than ever. Since Klay’s boating videos have been the talk of the time this summer, here’s another look at doing what he does best.

He posted a story on Instagram of him making shots from the three-point line. The caption said, “Grateful to be doing what I love again. Slowly and surely getting back to myself.”

Klay is 31 years old, and might not be the brilliant defender he was during his prime. However, his shooting seems to be intact. Klay and Steph from the perimeter are unstoppable. So, if the Splash Brother can return even mildly to how he was, the Warriors will be contenders to look out for.

Their only problem could be some of the underdog teams that bit harder than they barked. In the time Klay has been gone, the West has become more competitive than ever. So, his return isn’t the only thing they can bank on. From ensuring James Wiseman’s development to even figuring out the perfect roles for their rookies, the Warriors have a lot of work to do.

Can they build a supporting cast good enough to make Steph and Klay’s job easier? Or will Dubs fans have to wait even longer for another NBA championship to come their way?
