Day two of the NBA All-Star weekend was full of surprises and jaw-dropping moments. Especially, the Slam-Dunk contest that featured some of the most hyped high-flyers in the league. However, it was a G-League player that went home with the Slam-Dunk champion title, and deservedly so. But what caught fans’ attention even more was a New York Knicks rookie getting shot down. That too in front of an entire arena after overselling his performance.

This year’s Slam-Dunk contest featured players like Trey Murphy III, K.J. Martin, Mac McClung, and Jericho Sims. All players gave it their all and tried to give the fans a show but an outlandish move by Jericho Sims led to him getting humiliated.

The Slam-Dunk contest this year featured some amazing feats from the participating contestants. However, it was G-League star Mac McClung that left the fans’ jaws dropped on the floor with his performance.

The slam dunk contest has been losing its appeal over the years. So, McClung’s performance sure pumped up the fans in the arena. Not only that, McClung became the first G-League player ever to not only participate but also win the Slam-Dunk contest at the same time.

As for the dunk performed by Jericho Sims, it was first pulled off by Slam Dunk contest legend Vince Carter back in 2000. Carter had recently revealed that the league tried to bring some of the best high flyers together back in the day to create one of the most iconic dunk contests in history.

Unfortunately, fans never got to see that. However, McClung’s performance this year will surely have fans eager for next year’s performance.
