Michael Jordan has been considered one of the best players in NBA history. But the debate about him being the greatest player of all time is still controversial, given how many talented players have entered the league since and during his time. The 2023 NBA Conference semifinals are underway and certain matchups have stirred the GOAT debate again. The Los Angeles Lakers are in a 3-2 lead against the Golden State Warriors and an NBA veteran thinks LeBron James might end the debate once and for all.

He wrote, “One of the flaws in LeBron’s GOAT resume? There was a full fledged dynasty during his reign. Tonight – he could end it. Hours away from possibly the last game for Draymond, Bob Myers, Iggy…. Kerr?….Poole? and the end of the Warriors dynasty as we’ve known it.”

While Twitter users began tweeting their input on the debate, former Knicks player Greg Anthony came to LeBron’s defense and wrote, “Actually there were 2 (@spurs) and he actually has beaten both…I would ask you which dynasty did MJ beat? 😊 #AskingForAFriend love the show, you guys are fun!”

Wildes and Anthony’s tweets sparked the conversation about the greatest team runs in the league. Whether it was Jordan who put an end to the superiority of teams like the Lakers and Pistons, or were they just coming to the end of their run naturally?

While His Airness’ loyal subjects certainly feel it was Jordan himself who was the dynasty, he did not need to create or prevent others from forming, Greg Anthony did bring up a valid comparison with LeBron.
