The Los Angeles Lakers are a legacy franchise in American sports. Ever since Dr. Buss took over the franchise, they have had one successful era after another. It started with the showtime Lakers led by Magic Johnson and Kareem. Then they had another run with Kobe Bryant and Shaq in the early 2000s. Lakers have hordes of celebrity fans. And one of those celebrity fans once landed in hot soup with the rest of the LA fans.

According to an article, Gordon Ramsay is the celebrity fan in question. The superstar chef was once tasked with throwing the first pitch at the Dodgers stadium. What eventually led to the problem was that just after throwing the first pitch, Gordon was seen at the Laker’s home playoff game. And that’s where the criticism would start coming up.

Ramsay would later go on to claim that he fled from the Dodgers baseball game in favor of the Lakers. But who can blame Gordon for going to a Lakers game when Kobe is playing for them?

Kobe was part of the legendary 1996 NBA Draft class. The Charlotte Hornets selected him as the thirteenth overall pick before trading him to the Lakers for the center Vlade Divac. Another Lakers legend, Jerry West, who was impressed by Kobe during his workout with the Lakers sanctioned the trade.

Kobe along with Shaq would dominate the league in the early 2000s. They would go on to win three NBA Championships together and go to another NBA Final in 2004. But things would eventually get sore between the two and Shaq was traded to the Miami Heat in the summer of 2004. They both had since then mended their relationship.
