Kobe Bryant was a tough and determined athlete on the court. But off the court, Bryant used to have his fun side all out. Every NBA player has his own way around, doing stuff off the court. For Kobe, doing dangerous stunts and risky parkour was his fun. No NBA player would dare to risk their health for a dangerous parkour-ish move.

In 2008, Bryant did something similar. At the time, parkour had taken over the internet and was trending on young YouTube. Kobe decided to do a breathtaking move himself.

A  clip from 2008 shows Bryant attempting to jump over an Aston Martin. Kobe was wearing Nike Hyperdunks. These basketball shoes from Nike were brand new at the time. The video shows Kobe with one of his friends on a terrace, where they were getting their stunt done. At first, it looked like Kobe was doing a commercial for the new Nike kicks. As the 14-year-old clip was brought up quite recently, most of the fans on Twitter noticed a couple of flaws.

Most of the comments were from people trying to explain that the stunt was fake. It seems pretty legit, as if Kobe really had jumped over a running car. But there are a few noticeable flaws.

It can be seen that while Kobe is in the air, his shadow can be seen on the car. This would happen only if Kobe was beside the car and not over it. Also, some fans on Twitter noticed that the car was more to the right of Kobe. It was probably fake, for why would any player risk their legs for such a stunt?

If done wrong, it would’ve resulted in a possible career-ending injury, as the car was coming at a high speed. Another reason why the stunt was faked is that the video was shot on March 31st, 2008. Around this time, the season was coming to an end as the playoffs were around the corner. And as far as Kobe, he would never dare do such a thing right before the playoffs.
