Kobe Bryant had won multiple awards throughout his career. While most of his achievements came on the court, off the court, Bryant had a successful run in several other ventures and interests, including Hollywood. Like Bryant, Marvel superheroes are widely popular, thanks to their action-thriller movies. However, this popularity skyrocketed when the NBA and its players collaborated with the entertainment company’s actors.
Kobe Bryant’s achievements never stopped. He was a great influencer and a businessman in addition to his legendary NBA career. Bryant’s impact on the game was huge and known around the world. It was an honor for anyone to meet such an icon, including a fellow fan-favorite, Tobey Maguire.

Tobey Maguire was the first-ever actor to play Spider-Man. He appeared in the Spider-Man trilogy, which started in 2002 and ended in 2007. Notably, Maguire once presented Kobe Bryant with the Choice Baller award in 2012. This was at Spike TV’s 6th Annual awards show.

Bryant also won the athlete of the decade award in 2016. Even for the original Spider-Man, it was a great honor to present the legend with an award. However, this was not the only close interaction of the league’s players with a Marvel actor.

The NBA collaborated with Marvel to crown Arena of Heroes Champion

In the 2020-21 season, the NBA collaborated with Marvel for one game. This game was between the Pelicans and the Warriors. 3 players were selected from both teams to represent a Marvel superhero. The game presentation on TV was pretty exciting, as the score bug below had comic fonts and entertaining animations after every bucket.
The rules were simple: the player with the highest Hero points will be crowned the Arena of Heros Champion. Points could be scored by making buckets, grabbing rebounds, steals, dishing out dimes, and blocking shots.

Though each missed field goal and free throw would deduct a point. Draymond Green had the highest Hero points in the end, who presented Doctor Strange and became the first Arena of Heroes Champion.
