Good news is in order for Natalia Bryant. About a month back, the daughter of late NBA legend Kobe Bryant had sought a restraining order against an alleged stalker. Court records showed that she had filed a civil harassment restraining order against a 32-year-old man named Dwayne Kemp. Natalia testified in court on Wednesday and was given legal protection.

She also reportedly gave an account of how Kemp had put her at risk. She described his actions to be “unsettling”, as she became even more scared of his unpredictable behavior.
“I was in fear, for the longest time, that if I did block him, he would act in rage or get angry“, the 19-year-old said. She also emphasized that she has never met the person nor responded to his texts online.

She claimed that he had shown up at her sorority house, and her campus, and even paid a visit to her eyebrow beautician offering to pay for her services. Natalia’s lawyers also brought attention to the messages that Kemp had shared with her on social media.

Natalia asserted that he had been contacting her for two years, and was under the illusion that they were romantically involved. His behavior reportedly caused her “substantial emotional distress”.

According to Nick Sanchez, Natalia’s attorney, the judge was convinced of her testimony to grant her legal protection. The restraining order states that Dwayne Kemp must stay 200 yards away from Natalia, her job, her sorority house, her home, and her car for the next three years. He is also barred from contacting her on social media.

The court took that into account as well. The three-year order also states that Kemp cannot possess or purchase any firearms. He was also given 24 hours to surrender the weapons he already has in his possession. Notably, Dwayne Kemp has been allegedly arrested and/or convicted of at least four crimes in the past.
