Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant helped and guided many female basketball stars in their journey to become some of the world’s greatest players. In addition, his wife Vanessa Bryant has devoted time and effort to taking care of the young WNBA players after his passing. 

Vanessa continues Kobe’s legacy by promoting the sport and helping others who are in need. As a result of opening different basketball courts and cheering for them from the crowd.

Sabrina Ionescu, who is a WNBA star, looked up to Kobe Bryant as a mentor and someone who could encourage her. As a tribute to her mentor, Sabrina has carried on his legacy since the tragic incident through hard work and dedication to her craft. And she recently achieved an accomplishment. 

The New York Liberty guard made a new milestone in WNBA history. And former Lakers star Pau Gasol and Vanessa Bryant celebrated her achievement on Saturday. Ionescu made history as she became the first WNBA player to record 500 points, 200 rebounds, and 200 assists in one season.

While Sabrina made 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists, the score wasn’t enough to propel them to victory but the achievement that she made, made the difference. The final score was 76-62 with the Phoenix Mercury winning the match.

As far as her achievements go, Ionescu was selected as the top pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft. In addition to that, when she was at the University of Oregon, she almost always had a good game. As a result of this, fans were happy but not surprised by the achievement of the WNBA All-Star. 

There is a lot of buzz regarding this achievement on social media. As everyone is thinking about how proud Kobe Bryant would have been of his student after this achievement. Vanessa and Sabrina have remained close in the years since Kobe’s passing.
