The Miami Heat had an impressive run this post-season. Defeating the Boston Celtics to play in the NBA Finals wasn’t a piece of cake. It was a question of honor for both teams, as a victory could help either team rewrite history. If the Celtics had won, they would have been the first team in NBA history to bounce back from a 3-0 deficit. On the other hand, a victory for the Heat would mean that they’d join the 1999 New York Knicks as the only team with an 8-seed to progress to the NBA finals. Turns out, luck was on the Heat’s side. Unfortunately, they were no force for the formidable Denver Nuggets.

Now that the postseason is over, all teams are in preparation for the upcoming season. This comes with trading players and rumours have been swirling like crazy! And Heat has a trade proposal involving Bradley Beal and Jimmy Butler’s teammate who has been in the league for 17 years, along with a 6’7 Heat Star.

The Miami Heat lost Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Denver Nuggets 94-89 on Monday, June 12. The Heat suffered their second Finals defeat in the previous four seasons with this loss. Butler delivered a strong performance despite the result, tallying 21 points, three rebounds, five assists, and three steals in 41 minutes of action. However, only 5 of his 18 field goals were successful, demonstrating his inadequate shooting.

Butler displayed remarkable talent in the postseason, averaging 26.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. Throughout this time, he kept up a field goal percentage of 46.8%. The Heat made history by becoming just the second 8th seed in NBA history to make it to the Finals, which is an impressive accomplishment. They beat the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks, the fifth-seeded New York Knicks, the second-seeded Boston Celtics, the Chicago Bulls in the play-in tournament, and others along the way.

Meanwhile, as for the upcoming offseason for the Heat, an interesting trade is in the works, involving Bradley Beal!

USA Today via Reuters

As per the latest news, the Miami Heat have given the Washington Wizards an enticing offer. They asked for All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal in exchange for a package deal involving Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson, and many first-round picks.

Kyle Lowry, despite his age, demonstrated his capacity to contribute as a bench scorer during the Miami Heat’s playoff run this year. The NBA veteran who has been in the league for 17 years averaged 9.2 points while playing over 26 minutes per game across 23 games. He shot an impressive 37.5% from beyond the arc and 42.5% from the field. However, it seems like the Heat has offered him up for trade alongside a 6’7″ Duncan Robinson, who gained recognition for his three-point shooting skills. The team will acquire Bradley Beal in return.
