“The big picture that’s going on in the world is free our sister, Brittney Griner, Please. Please.”

Then Kyrie urged the most powerful man of America, President Joe Biden, saying, “do your job.” He continued, “Everybody do your job. Please bring our sister home. And we wouldn’t be doing our jobs to the best of our abilities if we didn’t stand on what we believe in,” said Kyrie Irving.

Earlier, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry too had addressed the Griner issue prior to their game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kyrie Irving follows Stephen Curry’s example

Stephen Curry has always been vocal about his stance on Brittney Griner’s case. The Golden State Warriors superstar had even extended his help to bring the WNBA star home. During the Warriors ring ceremony, Steph talked about Griner as part of the #WeAreBG campaign started by Griner’s agent prior to Griner’s appeal hearing on October 25. Steph gave a shoutout to Griner, as it was her 32nd birthday.

?We want to continue to let her name be known. It?s been 243 days since she?s been wrongfully incarcerated in Russia. We hope that she comes home soon.? said Steph.

On the contrary, Brittney Griner met up with her lawyers on her birthday to prepare for the hearing. According to Associated Press, Griner’s lawyer Maria Blagovolina said that while it wasn’t much of a celebration, Blagovolina did see Griner smile.

?Thank you everyone for fighting so hard to get me home. All the support and love are definitely helping me,? said Griner.
