The Brooklyn Nets season ended in disappointment for fans and the team. Not only did they undergo injury and player issues throughout the season, but the roster also failed to come together in the end. However, looking at Kyrie Irving and his recent statement, there still might be some hope for the team going ahead.

While Kevin Durant has tried to carry the team this entire season, Kyrie Irving was able to return towards the end. Ultimately, the team lost their Round 1 series (4-0) to the Boston Celtics. Naturally, many fans started discussing some trade possibilities for Irving.

Irving, on his end, seems to have no intention of leaving the Brooklyn Nets.

Following the loss against the Celtics, Irving was asked about his time with the team. The 2016 NBA Champion was sure of one answer: he is here to stay with Kevin Durant.

The two friends joined the Nets together in 2019, and have worked to play together through all difficulties. Durant missed his first season altogether due to his Achilles tear, while the roster underwent major changes later on. This time, despite a blowout elimination, Irving seems to maintain determination.

“When I say I’m here with Kev, I think that it really entails us managing this franchise together alongside Joe and Sean and just our group of family members that we have in our organization,” Irving said.

Irving even spoke about the Nets making the correct offseason moves, devoid of any influence from the outside. “Sometimes I feel like the noise on the external world or outside noise can seep in, and, you know, I’m not the type of person to allow that to happen”.?

While some fans expect a proper return for the Nets, many compared the situation to the Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers. As per fans, Irving had also promised not to leave the Cavaliers and the Celtics. Eventually, Irving ended up in Brooklyn.
