Carmelo Anthony is one of the most respected veterans in the NBA. The ten-time All-Star has been a part of the league since 2003 and has provided valuable contributions to various teams. He moved to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021, but the franchise chose to let him go this season.

Unfortunately, Anthony did not enjoy the success of his NBA career in his marriage with TV host and producer, La La Anthony. Recently, Carmelo Anthony’s ex-wife stated that she had no plans of getting married again after revelations of infidelity about the NBA star.

La La Anthony looked back at her marriage with Carmelo Anthony during an appearance at The Breakfast Club on October 27. The Think Like a Man star revealed that she does not see herself marrying again after a tough end to her relationship with Anthony. Melo and La La were married for 11 years before she filed for divorce in June 2021. The former couple has a 15-year-old son Kiyan.

La La Anthony’s statement came after cheating rumors involving Carmelo Anthony surfaced. The duo first separated in 2017 following infidelity rumors and reconciled in 2018. However, the couple finally parted ways in 2021. 

La La Anthony does not want to get married after divorcing Carmelo Anthony

Reflecting on her marriage, La La said, “I’m never getting married again. It’s one of those things in life that I feel like I could check it off. Like, ‘OK, I did that.'”

“And I’m not knocking anybody who’s married, it didn’t work for me. I’m all for anyone it worked for. I feel like marriage at times becomes very much like [a] business thing,” she added.

La La Anthony clarified that she did not condemn the idea of marriage. She reckoned that all the good and bad things in her relationship with Carmelo Anthony made her realize that she would not want to get married again. The famous TV personality and actress shared that getting out of her marriage with Carmelo Anthony was the toughest thing she dealt with as it gets quite complicated with lawyers being involved. 

Anthony’s ex-wife has been quite vocal about her marriage experience in recent times. While the duo has separated, they continue to spend time together for the sake of their child. La La also talked about her difficult journey to standing up on her feet all alone. She had been with Carmelo Anthony since he was 19 years old. Thus, it was difficult for her to think of a life of her own.
