NBA fans witnessed unbelievable sights from the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse stadium, as 26-year-old Donovan Mitchell torched the Los Angeles Lakers. The Cleveland Cavaliers ended the Lakers’ three-game winning streak after beating LeBron James and co. 116-102.  The night was arguably owned by the Cavaliers’ $163 million star, who not only dropped 43 points, but had a four-word message for the Lakers as well.

Anthony Davis scored 55 points in his last game against the Washington Wizards. However, Davis was taken off the court because of flu-like symptoms and the Lakers paid the price in Cleveland. Fans could feel the absence of Davis as the team struggled to score. On the other hand, the Cavaliers took full advantage of their venerable defense and went into full berzerk mode.

Donovan Mitchell outshined them all. During his 40 minutes on the court, he dropped 43 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and shot 17/27 from the field. Furthermore, during the fourth quarter of the game, Mitchell drilled a three-pointer that took his tally to 41. The whole arena jumped from their seats and Mitchell apparently said, “Go the f**k home” to the Lakers.

Mitchell definitely added salt to the wounds of Lakers fans. Furthermore, their disbelief can be seen all over the internet. As one fan said, “Lakers fans always have excuses.” Most of the fans were saying that this win came because Anthony Davis was not present on the court.

Here are some of the reactions from NBA Twitter:

LeBron James on the other hand scored 21 points, 17 rebounds, and 4 points on the night.

Anthony Davis has been a star this season

Anthony Davis had to be taken back to the locker room before the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Davis spent just 8 minutes on the court, scoring 1 point, 2 assists, and 3 rebounds. As fans were anticipating seeing another dominant performance from Davis, things took a turn as he was taken to the locker room because of possible flu-like symptoms.
