Although his achievements on the basketball court make him great, his ventures off the court make him a legend Known for his charity and philanthropy, LeBron always makes sure to give back to society. And a recent mega-deal shows the philanthropist side of LeBron James.
After acquiring the Los Angeles Lakers’ home stadium’s naming rights, the popular cryptocurrency platform crypto.com is now partnering with James. The LeBron James Family Foundation partners with crypto.com and has the intention to provide Web3 education.
LeBron James partners to provide education
A few months ago, crypto.com acquired the naming rights for the Lakers’ home stadium. And now they are partnering with the face of the Los Angeles Lakers.
The exchange company partners with the LeBron James Family Foundation to provide Web3 education to the I Promise program of the foundation.

As part of the deal, the students at his I Promise School in Akron, Ohio, will be provided education on crypto & Web3.

LeBron James has made sure his beneficiaries are not left behind as the world adapts to cryptocurrency. In a statement, James mentioned,” Blockchain technology is revolutionizing our economy, sports and entertainment, the art world, and how we engage with one another.
He added, “I want to ensure that communities like the one I come from are not left behind.”
What is the I Promise program?
With about 1600 students and their families under it, the foundation takes care of families in Akron. The foundation works for the betterment of backward communities in Akron.
Despite the coronavirus pandemic, the work by the foundation did not stop. Although the state closed down all schools, the Family Resource Centre was still open. Because of the nature of their work, the foundation remained open.
The center remained open for any families that need shelter, clothing, and medical care for its enrolled students, which amounts to almost 1500. Despite his hectic schedule, LeBron James makes sure to personally supervise projects. And his intervention with the executive director of the foundation made sure the resource center remains open for assistance.

The foundation also helps local schools in the Akron area cover teacher salaries. The LeBron James Family Foundation donates about $1 million per year to help cover teachers’ salaries. And the latest deal with crypto.com adds to the ever-expanding portfolio of LeBron James.
