Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving has found himself in trouble yet again. He posted the link to a controversial anti-semitic film on his Twitter recently which has invited widespread criticism.
Moreover, the team has suspended him for at least five games. On top of all that, Nike has cut relations with the former NBA champion which urged an apology. Interestingly enough, his apology came hours after the team announced his suspension.

Despite apologizing for his actions, some believe it is not sincere enough. The same applies to Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. He recently took to his blog to express his concerns for Irving.
Lakers legend opens up about the Kyrie Irving situation
The NBA world and beyond have been talking about Kyrie Irving for quite some time now. His controversial anti-semitic views have been bashed by experts and fans all around the world.
Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is well known for his views on socio-political issues around the world. Talking about the Irving situation, he talked about his doubts regarding the apology. Moreover, he also accused the Brooklyn Nets star of trying to save his career with the apology rather than his soul.
Kareem wrote, “I really hope this is one. But I’m skeptical of any apology that comes only after a suspension and the threat of even more punishment, including Nike suspending their relationship with him. Is he saving his soul—or his career?”

This is not the first time Kareem has talked about such an issue. A few weeks before the whole controversy, rapper Kanye West was in trouble as well. During one of his social media outbursts, he made some highly controversial anti-semitic comments. Jabbar also chimed in on the debate and expressed his opinions about West.

As a result, Adidas cut all ties with Ye, as he is officially known, which caused a huge blow to his net worth. Much like Adidas, Nike has suspended its relationship with Irving. Moreover, they have canceled the launch of the much-hyped Kyrie 8.
