Contrary to the popular opinion before the season, the Lakers are having an absolute howler. One thing was almost certain from the beginning; the age factor was always going to play against Frank Vogel and co. With many of their big stars well over the age of 30, it was always going to be an uphill task. And things only got tougher for the yellow brigade, when they lost star forward LeBron James for over ten games. In the erratic scenes that have followed, several analysts and former players have lashed out at the unprofessional approach of the roster.

Even before the regular season commenced, the Lakers dug themselves a hole. During the pre-season, they looked physically and mentally drained, failing to notch a single victory. Yet, there was the anticipation that they would go from naught to red hot in no time. But it wasn’t meant to be. Never mind the top franchises, James and co. haven’t been able to register successes even against miserly opposition. This has left them in a state of bother at 10-11, outside the playoff spot positions.

Former Laker Robert Horry destroys LeBron James’ side
It was not too long ago that the Lakers scripted history in the league. Thanks to some star players, the side clinched the NBA title in 2020. Speaking of star players, Robert Horry also won three titles at LA. The 51-year-old was part of the team that performed a three-peat from 2000-2002, and a potent forward in his own right. However, he has been extremely disappointed at how the Lakers have approached the season thus far.

In a recent interview, Horry lashed out at the system, claiming that they cannot hold onto a lead. The former star, who averaged around 7 points in his career, knows what it takes to win. Yet, he opined that the current team isn’t good enough. “Nobody fears the Lakers,” laid out the 7-time NBA winner. “As soon as they get a lead, they have all these antics, that right there is not being professional.”

It was a pinching reality check from Horry to the Lakers. Do you agree with what he had to say? Nonetheless, if LeBron James and co. wish to turn their campaign around, there will need to be a stern improvement. With the pressure of an axing now on Vogel, he has no choice but to put his best foot forward.
