One of the most beloved players in the NBA is Pau Gasol. The Los Angeles Lakers legend formed a formidable partnership with Kobe in a post-Shaquille O’Neal Lakers team and led them to 2 NBA titles. Interestingly enough, the Golden State Warriors were interested in the Spaniard 6 years ago before signing Kevin Durant.

While the Warriors look to get back on track, rumors of the sacking of coach Steve Kerr have come up. Although it does not look like the franchise will let go of Kerr; Pau Gasol comes out with a shocking revelation.

According to the two-time NBA champion, the Warriors invited him to be a part of their meetings. He said, ” You know, now I’m kind of exploring a potential role with the team and I’ve been going to the team and I’ve been going a little bit under the radar with the Warriors.

Gasol added, “They’ve kind of opened their doors for me to come in and then be a part of meetings and see the guys a little bit. It’s been nice and maybe I’m gonna do that more and more as I go forward.”

Will we see Gasol as the coach of the Warriors is something nobody knows, but seeing the Spaniard back in the court will certainly be nice for fans all around.

How has the team performed this year?

Although the Golden State Warriors performed really well in the initial stages of the season, they have dropped off. During a match against the Boston Celtics, star man Stephen Curry injured himself and everything went downhill. With the loss of Curry, the team looked visibly shaky with shocking losses.

Moreover, the loss against the Orlando Magic put the team on the back foot. The Magic are last in their conference and everyone expected the Warriors to breeze past them. However, the Magic pulled off a shocking 94-90 win.

Curry is expected to be out for another week and a half at least. With the NBA playoffs coming up, the team certainly needs to get their problems sorted as they wait for Curry to come back. Steph Curry averages 25.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists this season.
