The WNBA world received a major shock back in January. The biggest defensive star in the league, Brittney Griner traveled to Russia to play basketball during the WNBA’s off-season. LeBron James had been very quiet till now over the ongoing situation with Griner. However, the King wasn’t going to stay silent for long. In the trailer for the new episode of ‘The Shop‘, LeBron had a controversial opinion. He said: “Over 110 days, now how could she feel like America has her back? I would be feeling like, ‘Do I even want to go back to America?'” Huge backlash followed the King for his statement on the country. But he later took to Twitter to clarify his intentions behind the comments.

Griner’s situation is surely unfortunate, but there isn’t likely much anyone can do at the moment. Since Griner has pleaded guilty, the trial is set to take its course. At the moment it’s all about letting time give the answers. We can only hope and wish that Griner returns back to the USA safe and as soon as possible.
