The Los Angeles Lakers are having a disappointing season, to say the least. Dubbed as championship favorites before the start of the season, they are currently not in contention for a playoff spot. After their recent loss against the Mavericks, the Lakers slipped out of the play in spot, and eyebrows were raised regarding players like Russell Westbrook and, surprisingly, LeBron James too.

Moreover, this comes after Westbrook lashed out at one of the reporters after the match. Bashing Westbrook and the Lakers, former Chicago Bulls player Jay Williams accuses them of having a ‘losing culture.’
Former NBA player bashes the Lakers and Russell Westbrook
There is no denying the Los Angeles Lakers are having one of the worst seasons in their franchise history. Currently, the team takes 11th place in the Western Conference, which puts their playoff dreams in jeopardy. Despite having stars like LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis, the team has struggled all season.

Furthermore, a former Chicago Bulls player accused the Lakers of having a losing culture. Jay Williams said, “ You ever been part of a losing culture? It sucks. Every day you are having meetings, every day somebody’s pointing the finger, every day you are jockeying for position. Then when you lose games and then you have to be the person at the podium saying, “Hey, what are the answers?” I don’t have the damn answers.”
He adds, “I’m not making excuses for Russell Westbrook, because I wouldn’t point the fingers, I wouldn’t be passive-aggressive towards media members. I wouldn’t say “Well, I’m already a champion in life.” But I do wanna put this thing into perspective for people, Russell Westbrook did average a triple-double for three consecutive seasons.“

How is Westbrook playing this season?
The season for Russell Westbrook is going from bad to worse. He averages 18.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game this season. Considering the fact that he has been one of the best players in the league for the past decade, these stats don’t suit him well.

Moreover, his turnovers during the last quarter and his dismal shooting have let the team down on multiple occasions. He is shooting .440 for this season and averages 6.9 field goals this season. With the playoffs approaching soon, the Lakers and Westbrook will look to get their form back in order to salvage their season.
