Kyrie Irving, who is no more a part of the Brooklyn Nets, has shocked the league yet again by joining the Dallas Mavericks. With NBA fans not able to accept the fact that Irving requested a trade, the veteran guard sent another shocker by joining Dallas. Irving has been traded to the Mavs for Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian-Finney Smith. The league awaits a few more blockbuster trades, with three days left before the deadline. 

The NBA buffs who were rooting for a Lakers-Nets trade were left severely disappointed. A recent report has revealed the objection behind the potential Lakers-Nets trade. Fans were left in shambles after they got to know the man behind it. 

Brooklyn Nets owner Joe Tsai did not want to send Kyrie Irving to the Lakers

Many analysts believed Irving was most likely to land in either of the LA teams. The Los Angeles Lakers had already made an offer to the Nets. The Lakers were ready to give Russell Westbrook, a 2027 first-round pick and a 2029 first-round pick for the 6’2″ point guard. Another report revealed that the Los Angeles Clippers also made an offer that included John Wall.

Although, there was no possibility of the above trades happening because of the Nets’ billionaire owner Joe Tsai. A recent report from NBA analyst Marc Stein reveals that Joe Tsai’s objective was not to send the 2016 NBA champion to the Lakers.

Fans believe it’s pretty obvious why Joe Tsai did not want to send the guard to the Lakers. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Anthony Davis would be a lethal big three. Various reporters and analysts believe the Lakers could have turned their season around if the trade happened. 

Do the Dallas Mavericks have a shot at the championship now?

Mark Cuban and the Mavs have kept their promise by adding a veteran to the roster. Luka Doncic, who was in desperate need of help on the offensive side, has received it. The team is currently the 6th seed in the Western Conference, right under the Phoenix Suns. With Irving’s addition to the team, fans believe the Mavs can move up the ladder. They also seem to have a comfortable road to the playoffs.
